BMW iX4 electric SUV coupe offers up to 828 km of range

BMW is adding the electric iX4 to its Neue Klasse line-up, alongside the iX3.

The SUV-coupé has a lower, sloping roof and a more streamlined shape than the iX3.

BMW says the iX4 50 xDrive can travel up to 828 km on a charge under WLTP testing, 23 km farther than the comparable iX3.

The iX4 will also be offered in 40 xDrive and M60 versions, and all-wheel drive is standard.

The coupé shape cuts some cargo space, though the rear seats fold to provide up to 1,600 litres of room.

Prices start at 70,900 euros for the 40 xDrive; the 50 xDrive starts at 75,900 euros.

Production is due to begin in November, with deliveries expected from March.
