Square Enix announces Final Fantasy 40th anniversary album
Square Enix has announced a Final Fantasy anniversary soundtrack featuring music from across the series.
The release marks the role-playing game's 40th anniversary, following the first game's launch in 1987.
It selects one track from each of the 16 mainline games, from the original Final Fantasy to Final Fantasy 16.
The collection includes well-known pieces such as “One-Winged Angel” from Final Fantasy 7 and “To Zanarkand” from Final Fantasy 10.
The album will be available on vinyl and CD, with the vinyl edition spread across two records.
It is scheduled for release on January 6, 2027, and pre-orders are open through Square Enix's Japanese store.
