Indonesia’s Sharia Stock Index Falls 45% in 2026

Indonesia’s Sharia Stock Index fell 45.10% through October 2026, according to the country’s Financial Services Authority, known as OJK.

The index stood at 169.42 in October, down from 308.61 at the end of 2025, as the broader Indonesian stock market also faced pressure.

The market value of Sharia-listed shares fell to Rp4,304.17 trillion, from Rp8,971.68 trillion at the end of 2025, and those shares made up 48.80% of the stock exchange’s total market value.

Sharia finance refers to financial products designed to follow Islamic rules, and Indonesia’s figures show stock market losses alongside growth in other areas.

Corporate sukuk, a type of Islamic bond, rose 13.44% from the end of 2025 to Rp100.07 trillion, while Sharia bank financing grew 12.05% year on year to Rp757.32 trillion by September.

The figures show mixed results across Indonesia’s Sharia finance industry, with no further steps specified.
