Domen Prevc disqualified over suit, leaving Slovenia with four World Cup places

Slovenian ski jumper Domen Prevc was disqualified at the end of the summer series after the first round, when he was in second place.

Officials said his suit was 15 millimetres too thick and did not let enough air through.

Coach Robert Hrgota questioned the decision, suggesting the rules might be aimed at limiting Prevc's jumping style.

He also said his comments about the officials' nationalities were partly a joke, and there is no evidence the disqualification was deliberate.

Switzerland gained an extra World Cup place as a result, while Austria and Germany also earned extra places through Continental Cup results.

Slovenia will start the season with four jumpers, rather than the maximum of seven that Hrgota said the team wanted.

The World Cup begins in Lillehammer on November 20, and Hrgota said Slovenia is working to return to the top with as many jumpers as possible.
