Disney Drops Plans to Release Frozen 3 and 4 Back-to-Back
Disney no longer plans to release Frozen 3 and Frozen 4 back-to-back as parts of one story.
Jared Bush, Disney’s Head of Animation, said the change gives the team room to make Frozen 3 a complete and satisfying film.
The movies are part of Disney’s animated franchise, which has had a third and fourth film in development for several years.
Frozen 3 is scheduled to reach theaters on November 24, 2027.
Frozen 4 has no set release date, and the changed plan means it is not expected in 2028.
Bush said taking more time could leave more room to shape Frozen 4’s story without limiting work on the third film.
Disney’s next step is to focus on making Frozen 3 stand on its own while keeping possible future stories open.
