O’Neill agrees with McGregor on Celtic’s lack of control

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill agrees with captain Callum McGregor’s concerns about how the team is playing.

After a 2-2 draw with Dundee United, McGregor said Celtic lacked control and played like a basketball team.

O’Neill said some players, including Callum Osmand and Camilo Duran, are centre-forwards being used in other roles.

Celtic have won only once in three Europa League matches, but they remain four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has also criticised the team’s play, while some fans are unhappy and the Green Brigade has boycotted some games.

O’Neill said late arrivals and players who missed pre-season need time to settle, and that he expects more of the squad to play over the coming weeks.

He plans to find the right positions as the squad gets up to speed, with Celtic due to face Falkirk on Sunday.
