UC Berkeley Opens Twitch Studio for Student-Athletes

UC Berkeley has opened its first on-campus StreamU studio for student-athletes to make content for Twitch.

StreamU is a college athletics livestreaming network run by TheLinkU in partnership with Twitch.

The space is available to Cal athletes across sports, with 10 hours of weekly programming planned.

Shows may include workouts, cooking contests, gaming, campus tours, watch parties and game-day coverage.

The studio has professional cameras and production equipment, while portable gear lets athletes stream around campus.

The project aims to help athletes build audiences and NIL opportunities, meaning ways to benefit from their name, image and likeness.

More StreamU studios are planned at four other universities in the coming weeks.
