Police Close Investigation Into Hayden Panettiere’s Accidental Death

South Carolina police have closed their investigation into actress Hayden Panettiere’s death, ruling it accidental.

Panettiere, who starred in “Heroes” and “Nashville,” was found unresponsive at an Airbnb in Greenville on August 16, aged 36.

Authorities attributed her death to a drug overdose involving fentanyl and other drugs.

The county coroner had already ruled her death accidental, and police said their decision was based on the medical examiner’s findings and their investigation.

Panettiere had spoken publicly about her struggles with addiction and released a memoir months before her death.

It is unclear whether the DEA’s investigation has ended, so the status of any federal inquiry remains unknown.
