Adrien Broner detained during Beverly Hills police investigation

Former boxing champion Adrien Broner was detained by police in Beverly Hills over the weekend.

He was with a group recording content for the social media platform Kick when officers arrived.

Police said the stop was part of an investigation into a large street gathering in a residential area.

Officers handcuffed Broner, but he was released at the scene without a citation.

Broner has not fought in more than two years and is also among defendants in a Los Angeles County lawsuit alleging sexual battery, battery and assault.

He has denied wrongdoing in that case, which is separate from the police investigation.
