North Korea fires unidentified projectile toward East Sea

North Korea fired an unidentified projectile toward the East Sea on the morning of Nov.

4, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said.

The launch was directed toward waters off North Korea’s east coast.

South Korea’s military is checking the projectile’s type and range.

North Korean state media said the country launched a tactical ballistic missile with a cluster-munition warhead on Oct.

31.

If the new projectile is a ballistic missile, it would be North Korea’s first such launch in four days.

The military’s analysis will determine what was launched; no further action was specified.
