CareOne gains KOLAS recognition for three food contaminant tests
South Korean company CareOne has expanded its KOLAS-accredited testing to cover food contaminants.
KOLAS is South Korea’s laboratory accreditation body, and CareOne said it received the expanded recognition on October 15.
The new scope covers insects, hair and mammal droppings found in food.
The insect tests can identify 21 adult pest species and 18 kinds of larvae, while the hair tests distinguish among 10 species, including humans.
CareOne already had recognition for five microbial tests, granted in February.
Accredited results can provide objective evidence to help customers investigate contamination, manage quality and respond to business partners or authorities.
The results are based on international testing standards and can be used in overseas trade and quality checks.
