Arc Raiders' experimental PvE mode draws players but also griefers
Embark Studios has launched a temporary PvE test for its extraction shooter Arc Raiders.
The test is experimental and gives players a way to explore and fight computer-controlled enemies without their bullets harming other players.
Some players are using other tactics to disrupt teammates, including blocking them, camping locked loot rooms and drawing enemy robots toward extraction points.
These actions can leave players exposed to robots or force them to compete for loot, even though direct player-versus-player fire is disabled.
The test appeals to players who want a less hostile way to explore and cooperate against the game's machines.
But reports of griefing raise questions about whether the mode can offer that experience.
Embark could change the experimental mode, but no specific changes are described.

The mode has also drawn griefers who use tools and enemy robots to put other players at risk.
Players have reportedly camped locked loot rooms, lured robots toward extraction points and blocked teammates.
One reviewer welcomed the chance to explore and cooperate, while another argued PvE may not fit the game.

What people are saying
Legit first game on and people were being just like this, vultures, and taking all loot from Arc before you could even get anything from it
Top that off they were throwing lure grenades at me and my wife the whole time while trying to fight Arc. She went down due to it, I go for the rez then get body blocked and pushed around like I’m in grade school again.
