Jasmin Wagner to leave the stage as Blümchen
Jasmin Wagner is ending her major-stage career as Blümchen with an appearance at the Schlagerbooom TV show in Dortmund on Saturday.
The Hamburg-based singer became one of Germany’s most successful solo artists in the 1990s, with hits including “Boomerang” and “Herz an Herz.”
She says family is behind her decision, especially wanting more time with her young daughter.
Wagner had announced a farewell concert in Hamburg last year but cancelled it for private reasons.
Her mother’s serious illness was part of that decision, and Wagner says her mother is now in a relatively good, stable condition, though cancer can be unpredictable.
Wagner has sold more than a million records and CDs, and she has performed as Blümchen again since 2019.
Saturday’s show is her closing act on the big TV stage, but the sources do not say that she will stop making music altogether.
Jasmin Wagner is set to perform as Blümchen for the last time on a major television stage at the Schlagerbooom on Saturday, October 17.
