Turkey’s annualised goods exports reach a record $285.6 billion

Turkey’s exports rose 8.1% in October compared with the same month last year, reaching $25.9 billion, Vice-President Cevdet Yılmaz said.

Annualised goods exports hit a record $285.6 billion, while annualised exports of goods and services were estimated at $413 billion.

The figures come as global trade faces stronger protectionism, geopolitical uncertainty and risks to foreign demand.

The October trade deficit improved by 11.4% year on year, and exports covered a larger share of imports.

Yılmaz said continued export growth matters for improving Turkey’s external balance and keeping its current account deficit at sustainable levels.

The government plans to broaden export markets and strengthen trade links to make it easier for Turkish firms to reach global customers.
