Istanbul Reservoir Levels Rise to 52.43% After Heavy Rain

Heavy rain lifted Istanbul’s reservoir levels to an average of 52.43% on October 18.

The city’s water authority, İSKİ, said the level had been 38.06% on October 14, a rise of 14.37 percentage points in four days.

The level was more than double last year’s 24.51% on the same date.

Istanbul relies on these reservoirs as part of its water supply, and the city had received about 918 million cubic metres of treated water this year.

Some reservoirs remained very low, including Pabuçdere at 3.58% and Kazandere at 8.08%, though figures for individual reservoirs differed between reports.

More rainy weather was expected for several days, which could affect reservoir levels further.
