Palembang fish crackers secure $10 million deal with Dutch buyers

A Palembang small business secured $10 million in orders from the Netherlands for its fish crackers at Indonesia’s 2026 Trade Expo.

Trade Minister Budi Santoso said the product, called Awan Kerupuk, also drew deals from China, Taiwan and Arab markets.

The expo took place at ICE BSD from October 14 to 18, and featured a special booth for products selected under the trade ministry’s “Pilihan Busan” program.

The ministry says it screens small businesses’ products and helps selected goods reach modern retailers and overseas buyers.

Products in the Pilihan Busan booth recorded $40 million in transactions during the expo.

The ministry says it will continue working to expand exports and support local small businesses while promoting quality Indonesian products at home.
