PT seeks congressional inquiry into Flávio Bolsonaro
Brazil’s Workers’ Party leaders are seeking a mixed congressional inquiry into Flávio Bolsonaro, a senator and presidential candidate.
The request has 100 signatures, below the 198 required to file it: 171 from members of the lower house and 27 from senators.
It would examine allegations linked to the financing of the film Dark Horse and Flávio’s possible financial ties to lawyer Willer Tomaz.
Both cases are under investigation at Brazil’s Supreme Court, and the proposed inquiry would include 16 senators and 16 lower-house members for 180 days.
The PT says it has also signed an opposition-backed inquiry request involving Lulinha and Roberta Luchsinger, and is asking opponents to support its own request.
Even if it reaches the signature threshold, Congress president Davi Alcolumbre must read the request before the inquiry can begin.
