Orange and Sosh suffer nationwide network outage in France

Orange and Sosh had a nationwide network outage in France on Wednesday, 21 October.

Thousands of users reported problems, including difficulty making calls, sending texts and using mobile internet.

Some reports also said fixed internet service was affected.

Orange said the disruption affected its mobile network across the country and that its technical teams were working to identify the cause and restore service.

Orange is the main operator, while Sosh is its low-cost brand, so customers of both were affected.

The outage left many customers without basic phone and internet services, which people rely on to communicate and get online.

Some devices had regained service by 12:20, but the problem had not been resolved for everyone.

Orange said its teams were working to restore services as soon as possible.
