Jeongseon plans to cut farm price-support threshold from 10 days to 5

Jeongseon County in South Korea plans to broaden support for farmers facing sharp drops in crop prices.

Under the current rule, a crop’s market price must stay at or below its minimum price for at least 10 days for farmers to qualify for support covering the difference.

The county wants to cut that period to five days, so farmers hit by brief price slumps can qualify.

The change is part of a planned revision to the county’s agricultural minimum-price support ordinance.

If adopted, it would apply to produce shipped from Jan.

1, 2026, including shipments already made this year.

The county says it will monitor prices and crop supply as it works to maintain stable support.
