Former Hiroshima Carp player arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft

Hiroshima police arrested former Carp player Daisuke Tada, 30, on suspicion of breaking into a home and stealing.

Police say he entered a woman’s apartment in Hiroshima’s Naka Ward in May and took cash and a bankbook.

One account says the cash included about 18,000 yen and 500 US dollars, while another lists about 18,000 yen and a bankbook.

The woman did not know Tada, according to police.

Tada has admitted to the allegations, saying they are correct.

He previously played for the Hiroshima Carp, a professional baseball team, from 2015 to 2017.

Police are investigating whether he was involved in other cases; no further action is described.
