Brady Tkachuk scores as Ottawa fans boo his return with Florida

Brady Tkachuk returned to Ottawa on Wednesday for his first game there since leaving the Senators for the Florida Panthers.

He had asked to be traded last spring and was moved to Florida in June, after publicly saying he was committed to Ottawa.

Senators fans booed him from warmups onward, and the hostility continued whenever he touched the puck.

Tkachuk smiled through the reaction and scored Florida’s first goal on a power play halfway through the first period.

Ottawa’s Tim Stutzle answered with a power-play goal, leaving the teams tied 1-1 after 20 minutes.

Tkachuk also got into a scuffle with former teammate Nick Cousins and was penalized for roughing.

The game was still underway in the available account, which gives no final result.
