Priyanka Chopra announces Ventilator 2 for 2027

Priyanka Chopra has announced Ventilator 2, a sequel to her 2016 Marathi film.

The original followed the Kamerkar family as they gathered at a hospital after an elderly relative was put on a ventilator just before Ganesh Chaturthi.

It used humour and emotional moments to explore family bonds and old tensions.

Chopra is producing the sequel through her company Purple Pebble Pictures, alongside her mother Dr Madhu Chopra and filmmaker Rajesh Mapuskar.

Mapuskar returns as writer and director after leading the first film, which won three National Film Awards.

The announcement comes a decade after the original and the launch of Chopra’s production banner, which has backed films in different languages.

The sequel is planned for release in 2027, but its cast and story have not been announced.
