Turkey allocates 40 million lira for flood-hit provinces

Turkey has allocated 40 million lira to three flood-hit provinces: Antalya, Kocaeli and Sakarya.

The money is intended to help residents meet basic needs after flooding caused by heavy rain.

In Sakarya, flooding damaged some roads and bridges, and Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi visited the Kanlıçay area in Karapürçek district.

Fourteen pieces of machinery are supporting work there, and Çiftçi said the lack of reported deaths was a relief.

Social support teams are visiting households to identify needs, while psychosocial support teams are working in affected areas.

Officials say the danger has not passed and warned people in provinces under an orange weather alert to stay indoors.

Recovery work and assessments of residents' needs are continuing.
