The Offspring’s Noodles steps away from live shows over health issue

The Offspring guitarist Noodles is stepping away from live shows to deal with what he called a sudden and fairly serious health issue.

The 63-year-old musician, whose real name is Kevin Wasserman, has not shared details about his condition.

He has been with the California punk-rock band since 1985, a year after it formed.

Noodles last played with the band in San Diego on October 18.

The Offspring is scheduled to perform next in Los Angeles on October 24, followed by other shows in November and January.

The band has not said who will take Noodles’ place on stage, and he said he hopes to return soon.
