KPK urges Indonesia minister Nusron Wahid to attend questioning
Indonesia’s anti-corruption agency, the KPK, urged Minister Nusron Wahid to attend questioning in an investigation into alleged bribery.
The case concerns the handling of building-use rights for PT Summarecon Agung in Bogor regency.
The KPK says Nusron’s account could help explain the case and the roles of those involved.
He has missed two earlier summonses, first citing an internal ministry agenda and then an overseas trip.
A coordinator from anti-corruption group MAKI said Nusron may travel to Japan around the time of a possible third summons, but the KPK has not confirmed issuing a new summons.
The agency has named eight people as suspects in the case, including land officials, a politician, a former regent and a company executive.
The KPK says it will provide an update if a new questioning date is formally set.
Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) urged Land and Spatial Planning Minister Nusron Wahid to cooperate with questioning in a suspected bribery case.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said Wahid’s testimony was important to the case.
Wahid has failed to attend two earlier summonses, citing ministry business and travel abroad.
Anti-corruption activist Boyamin Saiman said Wahid was expected to travel to Japan around the time of a possible third summons.
