European tech startups raised €15.8 billion across 300 funding deals in September.

That was a strong rebound from August: the total value rose by almost 394 per cent, and the number of deals increased by 82 per cent.

The figures cover startups across Europe, with the UK accounting for the largest share of funding at €7.3 billion.

Cloud companies attracted €5.5 billion.

There were also 39 exits, including sales and other transactions, during the month, and exit activity remained relatively stable.

The figures show that investment picked up sharply after August, while exits changed little.

A separate weekly roundup tracked more than 70 funding deals worth over €818 million, along with more than 10 exits and other related developments.
