Hangzhou business chamber opens in Indonesia to build trade ties
A Hangzhou business chamber opened in Jakarta on Thursday to connect businesses from the Chinese city with Indonesian companies.
Its president, Ye Daifeng, said it will give members a place to share information, build networks and find business partners.
Hangzhou is known for digital businesses, advanced manufacturing and technology, while Indonesia offers resources, industries and a large market.
The chamber hopes to increase investment and technology exchange and help Indonesian businesses reach partners in Hangzhou and elsewhere in China.
Sudrajat, who leads an Indonesia-China cooperation organization, said bilateral trade had reached US$168 billion and that he hoped it would rise to US$200 billion.
The chamber is expected to expand partnerships and support job creation, though these are aims rather than guaranteed outcomes.
