Woman gives birth aboard moving train in Groningen

A woman gave birth aboard a moving train in Groningen on Wednesday morning.

The train had just left Groningen Europapark station, and a witness said passengers heard the woman cry out before a baby was found on the floor.

Passengers called emergency services and asked whether a doctor was on board.

The train was met by emergency services at Groningen’s main station, where the mother and baby were taken away.

Train operator Arriva did not disclose their condition, citing their privacy.

A second witness told a local newspaper that mother and baby were doing well.
