Anthropic adds bank-linked personal finance feature to Claude in US beta

Anthropic is testing a personal finance feature in Claude for users in the US.

Called Personal Finance, it is rolling out in beta to people on Claude’s Pro, Max and Ultra plans.

Users connect bank and credit card accounts through Plaid, and Claude can review balances and up to two years of transactions.

People can ask about spending, fees and upcoming bills, and request summaries, comparisons or payment calendars.

The feature can only read account information; it cannot move money, manage funds or make investments.

Anthropic says conversations in the Personal Finance hub are not used to train its AI models, and users can disconnect accounts at any time.

The feature is meant to help people understand their finances, not give investment advice, and the company says important figures should be checked against bank records.

For the accounts you choose to connect (and only those), Claude sees the bank’s name, each account’s name, type, and last four digits, balances and credit limits, and up to two years of transactions. When you chat with Claude in the Personal Finance hub, those conversations aren’t used to train our models.

Like any AI, it can make mistakes, so for anything important, we recommend confirming with your bank.
