Diljit Dosanjh’s Delhi concert cleared with up to 2,000 guards planned
Diljit Dosanjh is set to open his Aura India Tour in Delhi on October 30 with a concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
Delhi Police initially withheld permission, citing security concerns and festive-season law and order commitments, but later cleared the event after talks with organisers.
Police have recommended up to 2,000 private guards, compared with the 400 originally proposed by organisers, to help manage crowds and queues.
Police are planning vehicle restrictions within 500 to 700 metres of the stadium, with the area intended to be pedestrian-only apart from authorised vehicles.
Organisers have also been asked to arrange extra parking and coordinate with cab companies to reduce traffic and manage pick-ups and drop-offs.
A proposed extension to the stage ramp is still awaiting security clearance, while the tour is scheduled to continue in Indore on November 15.
