Paramount+ dramas may move to HBO as merged teams review slate

Paramount+ dramas may move to HBO as merged teams review slate

After Skydance’s acquisition of Warner Bros.

Discovery, Paramount+ and HBO’s content teams are being combined under Casey Bloys.

Executives are reviewing Paramount+’s upcoming drama slate, and some series could move to HBO.

No shows have moved, and the discussions are still at an early stage.

The projects being considered include the legal thriller Discretion, starring Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning, and The Best of Us, about 9/11 first responders.

Francesca Orsi and Sarah Aubrey are reviewing the slate together, with Orsi helping decide which dramas suit HBO.

Some shows may stay on Paramount+ but receive input from Orsi if they have the kind of prestige-drama style associated with HBO.

The companies plan to combine HBO Max and Paramount+ into one platform in the next couple of years, according to Skydance co-CEO David Ellison.
