Quebec woman accused of fraud over survivor pension after partner’s death

Nathalie Thibodeau, 57, is accused of defrauding Quebec’s pension agency by receiving a survivor’s pension linked to her partner, Raymond Blondin.

Blondin died in Mexico on March 30, 2026, according to one account, while spending the winter there with Thibodeau and another woman.

Court documents say Thibodeau may have been connected to his death, but she has not been charged with murder.

The pension payments she allegedly received could be worth up to $1,100 a month; another account says Blondin’s pension was worth more than $5,000, without clarifying the period.

Thibodeau, who is from Nicolet, was arrested in August and appeared in court in Trois-Rivières.

She remains free while the case proceeds, and is due back in court on December 2.
