Pietersen Says He Won’t Promote Betting Site While on England Duty

Kevin Pietersen has joined betting company Dafabet as a brand ambassador.

He has told the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) that he will not promote the company while working as a specialist mentor for England’s white-ball team.

The ECB bars cricket participants from encouraging bets on matches.

Pietersen is contracted to work with the team for about 150 days over the next 13 months, including tours and home matches before the 2027 ODI World Cup.

That commitment could limit what he can do under the deal.

The ECB has previously found that coach Brendon McCullum did not break its rules through a betting-company partnership, though he later ended it.

The ECB has yet to say whether Pietersen’s arrangement is acceptable.
