Report says Cadillac F1 owner is seeking buyers for his stake

Mark Walter is reportedly seeking buyers for his stake in Cadillac’s F1 team.

Walter controls the team through TWG Global, which runs it in partnership with General Motors.

The reported asking price is about US$3 billion, and at least seven potential buyers are said to be interested.

TWG said in August that it was not considering selling the team or another part of its motorsport business.

The reports conflict with that earlier statement, and no sale has been confirmed.

Cadillac is having a difficult debut season, sitting bottom of the constructors’ standings without a point.

The team’s 2027 driver line-up is not settled: Sergio Perez has signed a new deal, while Valtteri Bottas’s place is uncertain.

The team and any prospective buyers have not announced what will happen next.
