Markus Krösche leaves Eintracht Frankfurt with immediate effect

Markus Krösche has left Eintracht Frankfurt as sporting director with immediate effect, ending more than five years at the German club.

He asked to leave, saying he felt he needed a personal and professional change after a demanding spell.

Frankfurt's supervisory board unanimously approved his release, following talks between Krösche and chairman Mathias Beck about the club's direction and their future cooperation.

Krösche's contract runs until June 2028, but it remains in place with adjustments.

During his time at Frankfurt, the club won the Europa League and played in the Champions League, and Krösche was praised for helping develop the team.

The club has not named a successor, though reports have mentioned possible candidates.

Krösche plans to say farewell to club members at an upcoming meeting, while both he and Frankfurt prepare for what comes next.
