Police renew appeal to identify man found in Welsh reservoir

Dyfed-Powys Police renewed its appeal to identify a man found dead in Claerwen Reservoir in Powys, Wales.

A dog walker discovered his body on 17 October 2024, and officers believe he had been in the water for up to 12 weeks.

He was wearing a black extra-large Zone 3 Agile wetsuit, but no other identifying belongings were found nearby.

Police have checked missing-person records in the UK and abroad, as well as DNA, fingerprints and dental records, without finding a match.

A digital reconstruction of his face was also created to help someone recognise him.

Police estimate he was between 30 and 60 years old and about six feet tall, but his identity remains unknown.

The force is asking anyone with information to contact them through its appeal site.

Its stated aim is to identify him so he can be returned to his family or loved ones.
