About 250 metal objects found on A9 after cars suffer tyre damage

Police found about 250 metal objects on the A9 in Bavaria after drivers reported damaged tyres on Saturday evening.

The objects included nails, screws and metal brackets, and cars were affected in both directions near Hilpoltstein, between the Nürnberg-Ost interchange and the Hilpoltstein exit.

Some vehicles had to be towed because of the damage.

Police suspect someone deliberately threw the objects onto the road, possibly from a moving car.

They are investigating the case as a dangerous interference with road traffic.

Police are seeking witness information and asking any other affected drivers to come forward.
