William Katt Appears in an ‘NCIS’ Episode as a Nod to His 1980s Series

The ‘NCIS’ team investigated a sailor’s death in an episode that aired Tuesday.

The sailor had competed in a dangerous online game show and dressed as superhero Ralph to cheer up hospital children.

After his death, game-show host Jordan took over the role and led the children’s ward in costume.

William Katt, who played Ralph in ‘The Greatest American Hero,’ appeared as a doctor and greeted Jordan with the line, “Nice suit.”

The ABC series debuted in 1981, ran for three seasons and followed a teacher who gained powers from an alien suit.

Katt’s cameo linked the episode to the 1980s series in a scene the ‘NCIS’ showrunner had described as heartfelt.
