Ssangyong C&E to move headquarters from Seoul to Donghae
Ssangyong C&E will move its headquarters from Seoul to Donghae, in South Korea’s Gangwon province.
Shareholders approved the change to the company’s registered address at a meeting on October 14, and headquarters work is due to begin at its Donghae plant in December.
The move creates a two-site operating structure, with management support functions such as planning and accounting based in Donghae and the environmental business focused in Yeongwol.
Sales, finance and information technology will remain at the company’s Seoul office because they are closely linked to customers and other work in the capital region.
Ssangyong C&E says the change is intended to improve coordination with production sites and speed up decisions as the market changes, including amid a downturn in construction.
The company says it also aims to strengthen cost and quality competitiveness and plans to expand local hiring and cooperation with communities in Gangwon.
Ssangyong C&E will move its headquarters address from Seoul to Donghae, where its cement plant is located.
The company said shareholders approved the change at an extraordinary meeting on Oct. 14.
Headquarters operations are due to move to the Donghae plant from December.
