Long March reading series concludes with poetry event in Gansu

A national reading series about the Long March concluded on October 15 in Huining, Gansu province, China.

The event featured performances of poems about the revolution, charitable donations and exhibitions of historical documents and images.

Fifteen selected performances brought together libraries and organizations from provinces along the Long March route.

The series aimed to make revolutionary history more accessible through reading and public events.

Gansu was a major region on the route, where the Red Army spent a long time and fought many battles.

The closing event marked 90 years since the Long March victory and included visits to a former Red Army meeting site and a memorial museum.

More than 30 rare books and other documents from Gansu Provincial Library are also being shown at libraries across the province.
