AJ Dybantsa leaves Wizards preseason finale with ankle sprain

Wizards rookie AJ Dybantsa injured his left ankle during Washington's preseason finale on Friday.

The No.

1 overall draft pick landed awkwardly after a jump shot and left the game in the second quarter.

He had scored 12 points in 15 minutes before exiting.

Coach Brian Keefe said Dybantsa had a mild ankle sprain and that keeping him out for the rest of the game was precautionary.

The team plans to evaluate the ankle further as it learns more about the injury.

The Wizards are due to open the regular season against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, so Dybantsa's status for that game is not yet clear.
