My Chemical Romance plans to make an album in 2027

My Chemical Romance plans to make a new album in 2027, frontman Gerard Way told fans during a concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

Way said the band will probably not play shows next year while it works on the record, and hopes to see fans again in 2028.

The band’s last studio album came out in 2010, and it released one new song, “The Foundations of Decay,” in 2022.

My Chemical Romance split in 2013 and reunited in 2019.

A new album would be its first in 16 years, extending the band’s return beyond concerts and a single song.

The group has not announced a release date or confirmed specific plans for 2028.
