Pakistan Seeks to Host 2028 Women’s T20 World Cup, India May Play in UAE

Pakistan wants to host the 2028 Women’s T20 World Cup as the tournament’s main host.

The 12-team event is scheduled for September 7 to October 1, 2028.

Pakistan’s cricket board wants to host matches that do not involve India, while the UAE is the likely neutral venue for India’s games.

This follows a hybrid arrangement for India-Pakistan cricket events, in which matches involving the two countries are held at neutral venues when either hosts.

Lahore could host the final if India do not qualify, but the venue plan is not confirmed.

The arrangement will be another test of the hybrid model, which has been used at recent international tournaments involving the rivals.

The ICC has yet to finalize the neutral venue and other venue arrangements for the 2028 event.
