Zip proposes a 5-for-1 share consolidation
Zip Co plans to consolidate its shares on a five-for-one basis, meaning every five existing ordinary shares would become one share.
The Australian company says the change would reduce its share count from about 1.25 billion to about 249 million.
The proposal needs shareholder approval at Zip’s annual general meeting on 19 November 2026.
The company says the consolidation would not change its underlying value or the proportion of Zip owned by each shareholder.
Its board says a smaller share count could better match the company’s size and make its shares easier to compare with those of other ASX-listed companies.
If approved, the change is scheduled for late November, with deferred-settlement trading expected to start on 23 November and normal trading on 2 December; shareholders do not need to act now.
Zip proposed consolidating its fully paid ordinary shares on a five-for-one basis.
The number of ordinary shares would fall from 1,245,921,802 to about 249,191,788.
The proposal requires shareholder approval at Zip’s 2026 Annual General Meeting on 19 November.
The company says the consolidation is not expected to change its underlying value or shareholders’ proportionate holdings.
If approved, the consolidation is scheduled to take effect in late November 2026.
