Vantex V1 keyboard with central touchpad opens for Kickstarter pledges
Vantex has opened Kickstarter pledges for its V1 split mechanical keyboard, which has a touchpad in the middle.
The touchpad lets users move the cursor without reaching for a separate mouse.
The keyboard has 60 keys, four programmable layers and an aluminium body, and works with Windows, macOS and Linux according to Vantex.
The wired version starts at $129 and the wireless version at $159; both prices are early pledge offers.
The wireless model is still in development, and Vantex says its battery life and connection performance are still being evaluated.
Backers face risks including delays or changes, with component supply, assembly, testing and shipping among the potential problems identified by the company.
The campaign had raised $2,556 from 19 backers, above its $637 goal, with 27 days left when the story was published.
