White Sox Sign Alec Marsh to Minor League Deal

The Chicago White Sox signed right-hander Alec Marsh to a minor league contract and invited him to major league spring training.

Marsh previously pitched for the Kansas City Royals, making 33 starts and 10 relief appearances in 2023 and 2024.

He has not pitched in the major leagues since those seasons, after a shoulder injury interrupted his 2025 campaign.

Labrum surgery in November 2025 kept him out for all of 2026.

The deal gives Marsh a chance to compete for a roster spot, while giving Chicago another option for its rotation or bullpen.

He may be used as pitching depth if he returns to health, but it is unclear whether he can handle a starter’s workload after two seasons away.
