Javelin completes deep drilling at Coogee gold-copper targets
Javelin Minerals has completed a 1,000-metre drill hole at its Coogee gold-copper project in Western Australia.
The hole tested Coogee West, the second of two deep magnetic targets drilled in the campaign; the first, at Coogee North, reached 819.8 metres.
The drilling intersected thick dolerite units that may explain the West target’s magnetic signal, along with other volcanic rocks and intrusive dykes.
The targets were chosen because they are near gold-copper mineralisation found in earlier shallow drilling, but had not been tested at depth.
Assay results from both holes are still pending, so the drilling has not yet established whether the deeper targets contain valuable mineralisation.
Coogee already has a reported resource of about 127,000 ounces of gold and 4,122 tonnes of contained copper.
Javelin will combine the geological, assay and geophysical data to revise its interpretation before deciding whether to do more exploration.

- Who
- Javelin Minerals completed the drilling.
- What
- It finished a deep diamond hole at Coogee West, completing deep tests of two modelled magnetic targets. Assays are pending.
- When
- The article was published on October 22, 2026. The drilling completion date is not stated.
- Where
- The Coogee gold-copper project in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields.
- Why
- To test modelled magnetic intrusive targets associated spatially with gold-copper mineralisation identified in historical shallow drilling.
This story does not have two clearly opposing sides.
The first hole finished at a total depth of 819.8 metres.
The second hole finished at a total depth of 1,000 metres, completing deep tests of both targets.
Assays from the two-hole program remained pending, with core mark-up, cutting and sampling due to start shortly.
