Bengaluru–Goa Vande Bharat to be India's slowest and longest-running

Indian Railways has approved a Vande Bharat train between Yeshwantpur in Bengaluru and Madgaon in Goa via Hassan and Mangaluru.

The service is expected to take 12 hours 20 minutes to Goa and 12 hours 55 minutes back.

It will be the longest-running and slowest Vande Bharat service in India, averaging 53–54 km/h.

The fastest Vande Bharat, between Varanasi and New Delhi, averages 95 km/h.

The new train will replace the existing Madgaon–Mangaluru Central Vande Bharat, which is set to be discontinued.

Single-track sections and a steep mountain route limit its speed, including a 50-kilometre stretch where trains are restricted to 30 km/h.

The start date and booking details have not been announced.
