Chrome adds warnings for suspicious sites and malicious commands
Google is adding new scam warnings to Chrome’s Enhanced Protection mode.
The changes affect Chrome users who have turned on Enhanced Protection in Safe Browsing.
Chrome will distinguish suspicious sites from known dangerous sites: suspicious pages get a less severe warning, while known malicious sites still trigger a full-page red alert.
Google says its Gemini AI helps assess a page’s content, claimed brand, intent and domain reputation.
The system also expands detection to fake antivirus and browser update scams.
For ClickFix scams, which tell people to copy and run a harmful command, Chrome can check copied commands and warn users if they are considered dangerous.
Google says page content is sent for analysis only when strong scam signals are detected, and is not logged or used to train its AI.

The new suspicious-site alerts distinguish lower-confidence warnings from the full-page red alerts for sites known to be dangerous.
Chrome’s Gemini-powered scam detection now covers fake antivirus and browser update scams as well as tech support scams.
