Tambourah finds lithium and other metal targets in Western Australia
Tambourah Metals found lithium-bearing rock samples at its Coondina and Eleys project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region, about 80km southwest of Marble Bar.
The company collected 79 samples, with the strongest Coondina results reaching 1.143% lithium oxide and a sample at Eleys containing up to 572 parts per million tantalum.
The results point to possible lithium-caesium-tantalum pegmatites, a type of rock the company is investigating for these metals.
Exploration for this mineralisation has been limited, despite historic tin workings in the area.
Tambourah has also completed a 167-square-kilometre hyperspectral survey, and will combine its imagery and sample results to help choose where to explore next.
It plans more sampling to refine potential drill targets, while a separate silver, bismuth and copper find will get follow-up sampling and testing for platinum group metals.
Tambourah Metals reported lithium-bearing pegmatites and other metal targets at its Eleys-Coondina project in Western Australia’s Pilbara.
Rock-chip samples at Coondina returned up to 1.143% lithium oxide, while samples at Eleys returned up to 572 parts per million tantalum.
The company collected 79 rock samples across the project, about 80 kilometres southwest of Marble Bar.
A 167-square-kilometre hyperspectral survey at Coondina will be assessed alongside field results to help identify targets for further exploration.
A separate rock chip returned silver, bismuth and copper, prompting plans for more sampling and testing for platinum group metals.
